The 2016 Church Service
Members gathered on Sunday, May 15 for our annual church service & grave marking. This year we were at Gloria Dei Church near Penn's Landing in Philadelphia. As pictured, we took the opportunity to mark several graves of War of 1812 soldiers. Lunch followed at Caffe Valentino, several blocks away.
Grave Marking with US Daughters
On June 11, 2016, we joined with the US Daughters to mark another grave in St David's Churchyard. Lynne Jensen, President of the War Hawks Chapter of US Daughters in Florida, came to honor her relative and War of 1812 soldier, Nathan Brooke. Our Society's Color Guard, commanded by Steve Mark, handled the colors with help from Gene Bolt and Rick & Renato Di Stefano. Former president Bob Marvin attended, and Tee Adams took stills and shot video of the event.
